Biography

Prof. M.K.D.K. Piyaratne, Maldeni Kankanamalage Dimuthu Kumara Piyaratne am a Senior Lecturer in Agro-informatics attached to the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna. He obtained a PhD from Northwest A&F University in China, MSc from University of Kelenaiya, Sri Lanka and BSc from University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. He is working at the University of Ruhuna, with over eighteen years of experience in university education. He is the first Lecturer in Information Technology and the Coordinator (2018-2021) appointed to the Faculty of Agriculture Centre for Information Technology. He has published over 40 research papers and articles related to agro-informatics and information technology. In addition to the commitments as a lecturer, he is voluntarily working as a graphic designer and web designer as well. He has committed to create over thousand artworks in different areas for university and private sector as well.
