Biography

Prof. Disna Ratnasekera is a Chair Professor in the Department of Agricultural Biology, Faculty of Agriculture, at the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. Her research and teaching focus is Plant Stress Physiology and its critical role in understanding and mitigating climate change impacts on agriculture. She actively engage in developing resilient crops by integrating molecular genetics, biochemistry, and whole-plant physiology into a cross-disciplinary research framework. This approach enables both fundamental discovery and the translation of science into sustainable, practical solutions for global food security in a changing climate.
