Biography

Dr. I.R. Palihakkara is a Professor in the Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna. His work spans crop and land-use systems, with attention to sustainable management of agricultural landscapes. He is interested in plantation and field-crop systems, soil–plant interactions, and on-farm innovations that support livelihoods. He supports student training and academic activities in crop science and applied agriculture. He engages with stakeholders to identify practical, locally relevant options for resilient farming systems.
