Biography

Lanka Ranawake is a Senior Professor in the Department of Agricultural Biology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. Her research interests include plant molecular biology and genetics, plant genetic resources, plant breeding, plant stress biology with a particular focus on drought, salinity, submergence, and climate resilience, legume biology and biological nitrogen fixation, root system biology and architecture, plant phenotyping, agricultural statistics and data science, and indigenous knowledge for sustainable traditional industries, with an emphasis on the documentation, scientific validation, and application of traditional knowledge to promote sustainable agricultural and rural development.
