Biography

Dr. Chathuri Lankani Karunarathne is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna, and a dedicated researcher with a special focus on nutrient use efficiency and sustainable cropping systems. She holds a PhD in Agriculture from Hiroshima University, Japan, specializing in phosphorus nutrition in legume-based intercropping systems, and double master's degrees: an MSc in Agriculture from Hiroshima University focused on phytate-hydrolyzing bacterial characterization, and an MSc in Crop Science from the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. She also brings industry experience in high-tech hydroponics, with an emphasis on smart agriculture. She is passionate about teaching, research, mentoring, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
