Biography

Dr.Nadeeshani Silva is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. She has obtained her bachelor degree in Agriculture Science and Master degree in Agribusiness Management from University of Ruhuna in Sri Lanka. Further, she has obtained MSc in Agricultural Economics from Humboldt University of Berlin in Germany and PhD in Economics Geography in Agriculture from Hannover University in Germany. she has nearly 15 years of experiences in teaching and research in the field of Agricultural Economics and Extension. Her expertise areas are in the Micro Economics, Agricultural Policy analysis, Rural development and Gender issues, Knowledge and information management in Agriculture extension system. Further, she was awarded by OKP-NFP-fellowship for the programme on Facing rural innovation challenges - Linking research to inclusive development for food security” Wageningen, the Netherlands in 2018, Freie Universität Berlin Alumni fellowship for the international workshop on Tearing Down Walls to Entrepreneurial Ecosystems in the Global South. Berlin, Germany, 2021, Mentoring programm award by International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE), the International Committee for Women in Agricultural Economics (ICWAE) and African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) in 2022 and Australia Awards for Short Courses offered to South Asia & Mongolia on Promoting Value Chain Improvements, Market Integration, and Trade in Agribusiness conducted by the University of Queensland, Australia, 2022.
