Overview

The Research Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture is a key practical and research resource spread across approximately 65 acres of land at Mapalana, Kamburupitiya. The farm provides hands-on learning opportunities for students and serves as a platform for cutting-edge agricultural research.

Animal Units

🏃 Poultry Unit

Broiler and layer operations for teaching practical animal production and poultry management skills.

🐄 Cattle Unit

A mixed herd of dairy and beef cattle. Used for teaching animal husbandry, dairy management, and livestock research.

🐐 Goat Unit

Small-scale goat production unit used for small-ruminant research and teaching.

Aims of the Research Farm
