The University system in Sri Lanka operates within the framework laid down by the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978. The University Grants Commission (UGC) oversees the administration, coordination, and development of higher education in the country. About the UGC
The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka was established under the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978. It is responsible for the planning, coordination, and regulation of university education in Sri Lanka.
