Mentoring Program

About the Program

The Faculty of Agriculture Mentoring Program is designed to foster a supportive academic environment by connecting students with experienced academic staff members. The program helps students navigate their academic journey, personal challenges, and career planning.

Objectives

  • Monitor the progress and well-being of students throughout their academic career
  • Provide a bridge between students and faculty management
  • Assist students in resolving academic and personal difficulties at an early stage
  • Encourage peer support and leadership among students
  • Guide students in career planning and professional development

Faculty Mentoring Committee

The Faculty Mentoring Committee is chaired by a senior academic staff member and consists of members from all departments, with each mentor assigned to a specific batch of students.

How the Program Works

  1. Students are assigned a mentor at the beginning of their first year
  2. Regular meetings are held between mentors and their assigned student batches
  3. Students may contact their mentor directly by email or phone during office hours
  4. Mentors report to the Faculty Mentoring Committee on the progress of their students
  5. Issues requiring escalation are referred to the Dean’s Office or Student Counselling Committee
